Tamás Pongó

Currently, I work as a senior lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Szeged, Hungary. In 2014, I earned my law degree and completed my Ph.D. in 2017, followed by an LL.M. in Anglo-Saxon Law and Legal Translation. In 2019, I was a research fellow at Penn State Law and the University of Toledo, where I deepened my expertise in comparative constitutional law and digital rights.

My academic work primarily focuses on the protection of human rights in the online environment, with particular attention to freedom of expression, cyberbullying, and the responsibility of social media platforms under international human rights standards. I have published extensively on these topics in leading international and regional journals and have authored a monograph on the intersection of students’ freedom of speech and cyberbullying.

In addition to research, I teach constitutional law and digital rights at undergraduate and graduate levels and regularly contribute to scholarly discussions on the challenges of regulating online speech in the digital era.
