Botond Géza Kálmán

I earned my PhD in Economics and Regional Sciences from the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences in 2022, focusing on the financial culture of higher education students across three countries. My interdisciplinary background includes a Juris Doctor (JD) from Eötvös Loránd University, an LL.M. in Common Law from Leeds Beckett University, and an MSc in Financial Management from IBS International Business School. I also hold an MA in International Public Service Relations and a degree in Economics Pedagogy. In early 2024, I completed a BA in Germanistics, specializing in Swedish.

Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor and Adjunct Faculty at Kodolányi János University and Budapest Metropolitan University, teaching Finance, Accounting, Management, and Economics. My professional experience transitioned from managing SZUMMADENT Ltd to my current role as an Insurance Executive at the Hungarian Ministry for National Economy. Here, I handle capital markets and legal harmonization, representing Hungary in European Commission expert committees, Council working groups, and ECOFIN meetings.

My research career, which began in 2016, covers workplace stress, logistics, and competitiveness. I have published over 250 works, including 30 SCImago-indexed articles. I am a lifelong learner and polyglot: I am proficient in English, advanced in Swedish, and intermediate in Italian, while currently studying Portuguese, Dutch, and French. Outside of my professional life, I am a three-time “Good Student – Good Athlete” award winner, an avid long-distance runner, and a follower of global politics and comparative linguistics.
