School Meets Adventure: Designing Learning Spaces through Story and Play

Course in:
School Meets Adventure

Open to enrollments

Can a classroom become a stage? Can a history lesson turn into a quest? This six-day Erasmus+ course helps educators transform everyday teaching into meaningful adventures.

Description

Through storytelling, drama, and experiential learning, participants explore how curiosity, play, and imagination can drive motivation and deep understanding — inside and outside the classroom.

You’ll move, create, and collaborate to design your own Learning Adventure: a short, story-driven activity where learners don’t just listen — they explore.

This course is not about technology. It’s about emotions, imagination, and engagement — the art of making learning feel alive.

What will you learn?

  • How to use storytelling and drama to structure curiosity-based learning
  • How to design lessons that balance challenge, play, and reflection
  • How to turn classrooms, courtyards, or city spaces into creative learning environments
  • How to facilitate learning that sparks emotion and agency
  • How to integrate play, movement, and narrative into subject teaching
  • How to guide learners through discovery instead of instruction

What makes this course different?

  • You’ll use drama and storytelling as design tools, not just activities
  • You’ll learn to see any environment as a learning space — from classroom to park
  • You’ll design a real learning adventure that connects story, challenge, and meaning
  • You’ll collaborate in an international creativity lab with peers across Europe
  • You’ll go home with a tested mini-learning experience, ready to use immediately

  • Primary and lower secondary teachers (ages 6–15)
  • Arts, literature, language, social studies, and science teachers
  • Non-formal educators, trainers, and youth workers
